England suffered a heavy defeat of 133 runs in the 2nd ODI at Cardiff as Team India played truly like the defending World Champions. Chasing a revised target of 295 from 47 overs, England were bowled out for a paltry 161 in 38.1 overs.

After the seamers had made the inroads, Ravindra Jadeja came up to take four quick wickets to put England on the mat. Not a single English batsman looked in control of the game right from the start till the end. Suresh Raina bagged the Man of the Match award for his superb century in the first half.

Update at 7:24 pm IST: Oops just when the batsmen were coming in to the ground, the drizzle has arrived and now it has picked up. The players head towards the dressing room and as I type it is very very heavy!

India innings Update: Suresh Raina’s scintillating 4th ODI century and fifties from Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni helped India post a formidable total of 304 for 6 in the 2nd ODI at Cardiff. India had to fight hard on a track that was conducive for seam bowling early on. Despite a slow start of 19 for 2 in 7.4 overs, India finished with a big total as the English back up bowling wasn’t effective enough.

Toss and Teams: England have won the toss and asked India to bat first on a green pitch at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff. The weather forecast for now looks fine but rain is predicted for the evening, so the D/L method could decide the outcome of the match.
