Although the spectacular knock came in a losing cause, it comes in at number 10 among the highest international T20 scores. Here’s a look at the top 10 individual scores in T20s so far.
Aaron Finch: The Aussie opener and T20 skipper tops the list. He blasted 156 from 63 balls at a strike rate of 247.6 against England at Southampton on August 29, 2003. Finch smashed 11 fours and 14 sixes during the match.
Brendon McCullum: New Zealand’s most destructive batsman, McCullum hit 123 from 58 balls at a strike rate of 212 against Bangladesh at Pallekele on September 21, 2012. McCullum hit 11 fours and 7 sixes.
Faf du Plessis: South Africa’s T20 skipper is at number three. He made 119 from merely 56 balls at a strike rate of 212.5 against West Indies at Johannesburg on January 11, 2015. Du Plessis’ knock consisted 11 fours and 5 sixes.
Richard Levi: The swashbuckling Proteas batsman 117 not out from 51 balls at a strike rate of 229.4 against New Zealand at Hamilton on February 19, 2002. He hit 5 fours and 13 sixes in the innings.
Chris Gayle: The West Indian opener hit 117 from 57 balls at a strike rate of 205.2 against South Africa at Johannesburg on September 11, 2007. He hit 7 fours and 10 sixes in the innings.
Brendon McCullum: He enters the list again with his 116 not out from 56 balls at a strike rate of 207 against Australia at Christchurch on February 28, 2010. He hit 12 fours and 8 sixes in the series.
Alex Hales: The England opener made 116 not out from 64 balls at a strike rate of 181.2 against Sri Lanka at Chittagong on March 27, 2014. He hit 11 fours and 6 sixes in the knock.
