Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik scored superb centuries to help India overhaul a massive target of 334 in their warm-up match against Sri Lanka at Birmingham. Kohli scored 144 from 120 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes to set up India’s run chase. Dinesh Karthik, who came in with India in a shaky position at 110 for 4 in the 21st over, took the team to the finishing line with a brilliant 106* from 81 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes.

On a track that was devoid of any lateral movement, Sri Lanka piled up 333 for 3. Openers Kushal Perera with 82 (from 94 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes) and Tillakaratne Dilshan with 84 (from 78 balls with 9 fours and a six) batted with utmost ease before retiring hurt to make way for the other batsmen. All the Lankan batsmen who came into the middle got decent scores.

Bowlers on both the sides looked very ordinary as the pitch was offering them hardly anything.
