Sir Jack Hobbs: The England legend has scored most runs for England in the Ashes. In 41 Tests, he scored 3636 runs at an average of 54.2 with 12 hundreds and 15 fifties. Hobbs had a highest individual score of 187 in the Ashes.


David Gower: The former England skipper is second on the list. In 42 Tests, he scored 3269 runs at an average of 44.7 with nine hundreds and 12 fifties. Gower had a highest individual score of 215 in the Ashes.


Geoff Boycott: The cricketer-turned-commentator is third on the list. In 38 Tests, he scored 2495 runs at an average of 47.5 with seven hundreds and 14 fifties. Boycott had a highest individual score of 191 in the Ashes.


Wally Hammond: Another English legend, Hammond played 33 Tests and scored 2852 runs at an average of 51.8 with nine hundreds and seven fifties. Hammond had a highest individual score of 251 in the Ashes.


Herbert Sutcliffe: In 27 matches, Sutcliffe scored 2741 runs at an average of 66.8 with 8 hundreds and 16 fifties. Sutcliffe had a highest individual score of 194 in the Ashes.

Derek Underwood: In 29 Tests, Underwood claimed 105 wickets at an average of 26.3 with 4 four wicket hauls and 2 ten-wicket match hauls. He had best bowling figures of 7 for 50 in an Ashes innings.
